Harmonized Standard

A harmonized standard is a European standard created by CEN, CENELEC or ETSI following a request from the European Commission. You can use harmonized standards to demonstrate compliance with relevant EU legislation.

Annex ZA or ZZ of a harmonized standard will give you the link between the Essential Requirements in a legislative document and the clauses of the standard.

A standard is listed in the Official Journal of the European Union when it is accepted as a harmonized standard. To keep track of the latest harmonized standards the European Union provides a list of the harmonized standards online.
